He has borderline panic attacks sometimes on strong weed and cocaine. Last time he was on yayo he start pacing back and forth because he was so tense and his heart was racing.
While MDMA is not as hard on the heart as coke , I am afraid of having a panic attack-like episode while on it that could put his heart in danger. He is a skinny 26 year old male who is in decent shape. Should swim be worried? Dec 17, 2. MDMA isn't that rough on the heart. If You can manage even moderate exercise without issue, You will be fine. Dec 19, 3. The cardiovascular effects of the MDMA , could result from its complex influences on the noradrenergic transmission at the level of the heart and of the sympathetic nervous system.
So, MDMA perturbs by a mechanism similar to that Amphetamines the regulations exercised by the peripheral vegetative system , by acting on noradrenergic transmissions.
Dec 24, 4. Dec 25, 5. I agree with ellavader and Aoffke. Anxiety is a mental health disorder and a healthy person with anxiety has nothing wrong with their heart. Satan; its really easy to post up the detailed pharmacokinetic interaction of mdma , and then just say that anyone with a pathology should abstain.
I feel that your response is almost impossible to translate into real world application. In swims opinion the key to a good mdma experience for a person with anxiety would be: Dec 26, 6.
MDMA produces a peaceful emotional experience with enhanced insight, feelings of increased closeness to others, euphoria , sensory awareness etc However, increased anxiety , dysphoric and psychotic reactions and risky behavior have been reported in individual case reports of entactogen users.
Personality traits, set and setting , dose and quality of the substances used, as well as interactions with alcohol or other psychoactive drugs have been suggested to be critical factors contributing to the differences in psychological responses to MDMA.
Persons with a previous history of anxiety and panic attacks , or with psychiatric disorders, are particularly at risk for short and long-term MDMA effects. Psychic difficulties, cardiac problems, or other health problems. To say that everything can go very well if doses are respected, that the atmosphere is good etc No one should forget that taking Ecstasy if someone feel bad or anxious , his or her state risks to get worse.
And sorry, but this is not from Wiki Sep 17, 7. When I was 18 I wanted to donate blood but I wasn't allowed to because my pulse was much too high and the doctor there suggested to better make sure if my heart was okay because a very high pulse can sometimes be a sign of a cardiac defect.
So I went to a doctor for ECG and he said my heart was sometimes skipping one or two beats and sent me to an internist because of a suspected sinoatrial block some kind of cardiac dysrhythmia.
The internist took a look at my heart via ultrasound and said that he could not see any abnormalities and that it was common for young people's hearts to not be completely steady-going. Nevertheless, he advised to come back one or two years later to check again if everything was okay just to be on the safe side. Well, I never did because I don't have any complaints. However, every time I take my pulse I notice that it is still slightly higher than usual, which makes me worry that I do have some undiagnosed heart condition after all.
Do you think that taking MDMA would be wise under these circumstances? Any advice is very much appreciated. Sep 17, 8. Stated another way, MDMA seems to be less strenuous and anxiety-inducing compared to any other stimulant the dummy has taken. There WILL be some of that 'butterflies in the stomach' anxiety feeling accompanied with an increased heartrate on the MDMA come up, but it's not worse than regular nervousness, and likely once the MDMA actually hits you, all of your anxieties and worries will be swept away.
Pebbles, a while back a year or more ago the dummy had a similar type of issue which resulted in him taking his pulse and noticing that it is higher than usual. One thing to realize is for whatever reason, or maybe its only certain individuals, checking your pulse will increase your heart rate. It's some strange biofeedback phenomenon, but the dummy used to compulsively check his pulse for a while, and it certainly did more psychological harm than good.
If either of you do decide to take MDMA , make sure the first time is with a circle of good friends swiys are comfortable with. Make sure it will not be too hot, and that water is easily accessible. If those conditions are met, it greatly reduces the chance of anything negative occurring. They will leave you feeling tweaky, anxious, uncomfortable, unable to sleep - don't just take someone's word for it, you need to make sure what you are taking is actually MDMA.
Sep 18, 9. I've never had heart discomfort from MDMA use yet. Too much cocaine or amphetamine has caused my heart rate to go through the roof though causing panic attacks on a few occassions so I stay away from them now.
Oct 14, I took 10 pro plus tablets once caffeine tablets and suffered similar symptoms. It was stupid and dreadful Please bear in mind that. However, with my mandy,.
MDMA will almost certainly not of "messed your heart up for good". You also say you took speed. I'd advise maybe calming down a little bit, too much can be excess. Not every person is the same but certainly the other drugs you have stated would seem to be the ones causing the problem.
My dog had a pulse taken on md yesterday and I can tell you it shot above average, but not dangerously. Oct 19, My mate's a reasonably chubby guy, but has taken MDMA in the past with reasonable caution and even done a bit too much a few times , but has always been fine.
I guess it's a difficult threshold to test, but the caution would be, according to my mate, always start off with smaller doses and work your way up.
The best advice of all would be only to do it occasionally, as it quickly works up a tolerance. Oct 21, Nov 13, OK so id like some angles aroudn this subject if at all possible? Swim used to do a fair bit of cocaine including a week binge after his best friends death.
The cocaine binge was mixed with alcohol and all was fine untill on one of the nights i was getting pararnoid after remembering that cocaine restricts arteries and was concerned of having a heart attack. Swim took aspirin whilst on the cocaine to avoid any risk of this. Swim then went to work and started having crushing chest pains, thinking it was a heart attack Swim drove themself to the hospital where they did ekg, ekg - fine.
LEft and thought nothing more of it, another week went by when they experienced such pains again, shortness of breath and chest pains - went to hospital again. Luckily the dr recognised me from the time before and said they'd do a more thorough investigation which included xray, ct scan to check for pulmonary embolism and ekg Scariest time of Swim 's life Put things into perspective - esp when having ct scan sat amongst other severely ill people..
BUT mistakes on the UK health system have been made, as is the case anywhere right? OR thats what im starting to think Then the following day there were a few chest pains, now Swim is worried that there is heart damage as the following day whilst walking around Swim got out of breath more easily than they usually would have done.
Nov 19, First time i did it was probably. It's very easy to just neck drugs and keep doing them, especially your first times.
My first real downer, i just wanted to get back out and fucked, but luckily my mates already knew the sensible deal and told me to chill and the downer will go away, and use them every so often. Less is more like my friend pointed out to me, let your brain recover for weeks not a week, and then roll hard again and max the ejoyment.
Fun times are meant to end, otherwise they won't be fun anymore, goes to say with everything you enjoy in life, drug related or not. There is no real way to test if a drug will work with your body, it's either do it or don't.
Drop it and you might end up in hospital or die do to a bad reaction on your bodies chemistry, or you might be fine. The sensible option would be test a little bit, but i think people just generally if not reading up on it before, just drop, i did.
Thanks Sam saalro added 12 Minutes and 40 Seconds later I beleive it comes down to you as a perosn also, i was raised very well and my life experiences have been very informative, i think that both have a huge part to play in how i think about it, also i have watched people do drugs and when i first done them, felt comfortable to do them, i only started doing them at a few months ago.
People won't always take the correct path, but if you are lucky enough to not have messed up the first time by being uninformed, then you'll find it if you have your head screwed on and the right people around you, if not you might end up a crack head ha.
Drugs should be respected, hopefully people who do them realise that, and if they haven't yet and are lucky enough to be standing, hopefully they will gain respect, if not That's not to say that horse-riding is a totally risk free activity, and the same goes for MDMA.
